Roaming Profiles Problem
Hi Folks,
We are running a Windows 2003 Server network with XP Pro Clients. I noticed yesterday that for some unknown reason when I create a new user in AD and then login onto to a computer I get the following error message:-
USER ENVIRONMENT - Windows cannot find a server copy of your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with a local profile, etc, etc,.
Your help would be much appreciated....

Sounds like the user doesn't have permissions to write to where their profile is. Or alternatively the path to where their profile is might set wrong/non-existant.

Yep, agree with that.
Check the path in the user account.
Check the share permissions allow everyone (or equivalent) full control.
Check the folder where the profile will be created has permssions like this
- Administrators: Full Control (All subfolders and files)
- System: Full Control (All subfolders and files)
- (everyone/authenticated users/domain users): Create folder (this folder only)
- CREATOR OWNER: Full Control (Subfolders and files only).

A good ol' permissions reset sounds like it'll do the job.
