    Lettuce Nose Stuffer Avoids Jail

A police spokesperson said that much of the footage was too disgusting to be broadcast and that what we see here is just the tip of the iceberg.

I saw this earlier, surely the only prisonable offence in that story was where the woman threw the chair at him!

I heard this on Radio 1. It's disgusting. Always better to make your own. At least you'll know all the ingredients

I wouldn't like to think I bought a sandwich from that shop. And it's ok to think "well nobodies hurt are they" - the company is hurt. I'll not be going back to Subways anytime soon.

And about his defence lawyer saying "he didn't think it would be published on YouTube" - oh, that makes it ok then.

To be fair, it's only as bad as sneezing on the lettuce... and you wouldn't go to jail for that

Think the problem is where they said put it back and he did, because even when u sneeze on it your expected to stop throw away whats there and get fresh before continuing to serve

I know you'd be expected to replace it, but surely it isn't a prisonable offence to not replace it!

But its not. This is disgusting, and intended. And as was just said - anybody with an ounze of common decency would chuck it away and get fresh produce.

It's like if you cut yourself when chopping something you're supposed to chuck the whole lot away and start from scratch. Fresh knife, cutting board, ingredients, the lot.

I'm not saying he deserves a jail term because I think that is way over the top. I'm just saying what he did was immature, disgusting, and most importantly very damaging to the company so he'll get what he deserves. Obviously, some wifey thought he deserved a chair in the face.

It damages a reputation, the brand but also all hygiene regulations. Irrelevant if it was discarded or not, he shouldn't of done it. I just don't understand the motive of some people!

300 hours of unpaid work as the punishment? That's over a month, working on the presumption he works 8 hours per day! Why would Subway still want to employ someone like that? He should of been given community work and enrolled on a food hygiene course.

I'm not saying i condone what he did, but a jail term shouldn't even be considered. Whereas the woman who threw the chair at him should have been done for assault!

    Jail is abit far.

I would have sacked him, but not jail.

If I found out I was eating lettuce that had been up somebodies nose he would have had a bit more than a chair chucked at him.
