Hi use to be a site that offered blacklist of websites to block anyone know of anything like that..
Russ

Russ

Russ

not really chris all need to do is export you allow list and disallow lists from you local filtering then add to wiki page and then for county just need some of county reps on here to pull the info
I will pull out duplicate urls in wiki just go and add..
Russ

Lancashire use SmartFilter - that's a rather big list!
From the Secure Computing website...
nternet access is managed and monitored through the dynamic SmartFilter® Control List. The Control List provides a comprehensive and proven database of millions of global URLs that are organized into over 60 categories.
If you compare the Smartfilter URL list with the one from the site I posted you'll find the smartfilter list is merely a subset.

anyway mainly was asking about peoples local allow disallow lists...
county one do at later date just added the pages on wiki as requested...
What want is what people use on there local filtering boxes..

I have some voodoo to make hotmail work, thats about it at the moment.
I didn't know hotmail was blocked??? The kids here use it. We're on cleo here in cumbria as well, and hotmail works fine! + I've got a NAT'ed address so I have more or less complete freedom (for my personal use)

talking about hotmail we are blocking it in lessons... mainly to get them to use the new email system
russ

The best reason to block hotmail (and other webmail) is so that email use can be monitored. This helps keep up your duty of care with respect to bullying and abuse of the computer system.Originally Posted by russdev
