Single Status
Did anyone get "excited" when some of the TA's and Admin staff mentioned they got a letter from the LEA yesterday about Single Status and a lot of them were being given compensation.
I did too, then read in to it on here and on the LEA website that it probably doesn't apply for technicians.

4th March 2009, 06:12 PM #3 My mam got £2,500 for her job as a lunctime supervisor. The school crossing patrol guy got £5,000 at her school.
At our secondary school here all the cleaners got a nice surprise when they opened their letter - most have between £2k - £3k, I think they are all planning a holiday together in the summer to spend it.

Apparently we're supposed to have something like this here, where your job description is evaluated by HR and is turned into some grade which is what you're paid. As usual, the school tell me it doesn't apply to me because I work strange hours.

5th March 2009, 09:01 AM #6 A group of "randomly selected" people got invited to a meeting a few weeks ago and asked to fill in a questionaire, which will be used to do an impact study for county. Apparently county has decided that single status pay may or may not apply to schools, depending on the outcome of the impact study (ie. how much it will cost them). Also the impact study will allow them to (in the advisors words) fiddle with the pay bands so they can afford to do it if they go ahead.
The first question on the questionaire is "In two sentances explain why you are employed". Also they didnt have anyones job titles correct on the questionaires they handed out, apparently our technician is a clerical assistant!
