PSPs in the Classroom

Is anyone using PSPs in the classroom? We've had quite a few of these ordered for use during lessons.
I'm not entirely sure how the teachers intend to use these and was wondering whether anyone else has any experience with these. In particular has anyone found any issues with adding these things to the network?

ive heard rumours of schools buying them for things like PE lessons. Not sure why you would use them - and a good quality netbook would probably do the same job if not better (and have more software available for it)

We not using PSP (looking into this technology in next 12 months) but no netbook is not replacement they both serv different purposes.

I will dig some more info on psp in classroom out for you.

The first link for Campie Primary is in the local council I work for.

The kids think they are great, use mainly maths or educational type games on them. Also, some kid don't like reading but seem to relish comics (or graphic novels) and read them a lot more.

We've also used guitar hero rock band for the transition between P7 to 1st year, a good way to get the kids to meet each other before they meet on their first day at a high school. A lot of folk think it's a waste of money etc, but the teacher in the link below has numerous ways in which one simple song on GH can be used n various classes. i.e. find a song they like, then use geography lessons to look into where the band is from, see what foods are made there (Home Ec classes) the list goes on.

I've not used them in the classroom but a drama trainer cam in and used three really successfully I was told. Anyway these guys seem to do them in class set so they must have some value

It should be interesting to see exactly how these are used in class, or indeed if the actually get used correctly. I can see these only coming out on the last day of term for the kids to play games on.
