3rd March 2009, 12:25 AM #10 AFAIK you need to provide proof of purchase before Dell will help you, which protects customers against theft. Dell are correct - you need to provide previous ownership info.

It will really grind their gears if your "proof of ownership" is a photograph of you and the box in question sharing a pizza, or dress it up in summer clothes and photoshop onto a beach picture.
