End of year spend goodies
I don't waste money... ever! This means I usually end up with left over money in my budget. I recently found a few hundred pounds and decided to spend it on useful items for myself and my technician.
New keyboards and mice all round
So we now have these amazing Logitech MX Revolution mice with accelerometers in the sroll wheel! Pure genius and it's now a pleasure to use my mouse.
Then there's the keyboards... I let Stu choose any Cherry keyboard he wanted... a nice simple one with multimedia controls was the choice. I have to say it is nice. Not as nice as the Cherry Click that I got though!
Never have I enjoyed typing as much since using Cherry Clicks at uni. I sit here smiling away as I change passwords and write the most mundane of reports.
I will stop feeling guilty eventually for spending £50 on each mouse and £50 on my keyboard. At least they will last though!

I'm still using an IBM Model M from 1985.

What about those servers you sent off to get Chrome plated, just because you like shiney things?

14th February 2009, 04:40 PM #8 Oh yes, this time of year is always fun. Why should I have to plan carefully and diligently what money is spent throughout the year, when everyone else hoards their money and spends it on crap during the rest of the year, only for them to be told "you need to spend what you have left NOW!" and they all suddenly want laptops and printers sorting for themselves
Why is their problem suddenly my problem?? Aaargh

14th February 2009, 04:47 PM #9 I'm in the same boat, we need to empty our spends before the 27th and can't spend until April again!
Lots of toner/paper to be bought, and then we'll see what's left!

14th February 2009, 11:27 PM #11 We never have any money left over - our budget is woefully underfunded anyway and just the ink costs take us way over

I recently checked on eBay - a genuine model M will actually set you back more than a new keyboard.
