According to BT Wholesale, houses at your postcode should be able to support a 3.5Mbps
or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max.

ISP is ADSL24 which is a Enta reseller. On a 24meg adsl2+ connection. Router died recently so currently using an old talk-talk router (long story!) till I get it replaced, hence the slightly slow speeds!

You want to knock yourself down to the middle package then and save a couple of pounds a month!

not true speed oweing to extension cable knowingly slowing things down by around 3mb

I've no idea - must be something to do with the fibre round here - and maybe our isp don't throttle up?
