Not so far from the truth.

    Official Google Blog

We periodically update that list and released one such update to the site this morning. Unfortunately (and here's the human error), the URL of '/' was mistakenly checked in as a value to the file and '/' expands to all URLs. Fortunately, our on-call site reliability team found the problem quickly and reverted the file. Since we push these updates in a staggered and rolling fashion, the errors began appearing between 6:27 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. and began disappearing between 7:10 and 7:25 a.m., so the duration of the problem for any particular user was approximately 40 minutes.

    Hahaaa, total fail!

In the revised blog post, Google clarified that they were responsible for introducing the mistake on the list today — accidentally adding “the URL of ‘/’ ” to the list — which caused all sites to be flagged as potentially harmful.

Was busy doing some searching when this happened.

Bit puzzled at first but when my 2 other machines did the same it was likey a Google issue.

Was fun to see that a search for Google can back with the error too.

I have the student home page set to Google so was hoping that it would be sorted before Monday ir it was a quick change to the KIX file.

I found this other search engine - I think it's called YAHOO and it doesn't find any problems.
