Working for the government, we are some of the lucky ones really. We complain about low pay, but we have a higher level of security in our jobs (until BSF comes and takes that away). I was considering moving on within a year but with all this mess, I will be sitting tight until it is safe.
I feel sorry for the people who are young (like me) and who work in industry, services etc... if they get the boot, then they are gonna get bugger all redundancy pay. It's going to be a tough couple of years.
One thing that is likely though, is in 4/5 years time school numbers will increase... Economic downturns usually mean lots of people having more babies. So these current times of falling numbers in school will slowly reverse. But then, by then, will the govt have finished killing independant IT in schools?
