But BT have just announced they are abolishing charges for 0845 and 0870 numbers anyway (from bt lines)

I thought the whole idea (well, at least the official line given) behind 0870/0845 was that the charge is consistent no matter where you call from?

true. but our school for example dosent allow me to phone premium lines thus an alternative land line gets you around that
