    Charging to setup a printer.

    Hi there,

How much would you charge to setup a new network printer on a few machines? I have been asked to do it for a couple of people and have no idea what the going rate is.

    Many thanks

    Z

I normally charge an hourly rate (min of one), regardless of the job.

Saves argyuments if you think 'oh, a tenner, its only a printer..' and end up having to reconfigure everything cause somethings very wrong....

The same as I would for anyone else; £30 for a first hour and £20 subsequently.

Monday to Friday rate is £20 per hour, minimum of 1 hour, weekend is £40 per hour, again with a minimum of 1 hour. If called out at short notice in the week then its also £40. Sometimes at the weekend I charge £20 an hour, depends who it is and what the job is.

I've now started charging the same as work. £25 callout plus £25 per hour as I find it stops people with silly requests.
