Just a 'dusting' here in West Lancs. Still enough for my kids to get out in their snow suites in the back garden and play in snow though
Hopefully we'll catch more later on.

Loads of snow here but my school not closed.

The approach to the school is a steep hill and just before the gate I realised that, even though I was driving *very* slowly, I had no brakes, managed to steer it through the gates, round a bend into the car park and into a space.

Was any looking at this feat of skill? Course not!

    bloody snow..hate, hate, hate....

I admit, if I didn't have to drive in it, it's be different. The whole area around my house gets no treatment/clearing, and I have cars both sides of the road to miss, and 3 lots of kiddies who insist on playing chicken on the run to the main road.

Once on the main road, it's just a case of "drive at 25, slower if needs be, ignore the cretins". Then into the carpark here that's (as usual) untreated. Bah.

Took the missus to work..dropped her off on the corner. Daren't go all the way to the door as I used to live down there, and it's a subsiding/twisty/bumpy/alternately cambered rollercoater, with a sheer drop to the severn.. 2 years ago was bad enough.

If it kicks off here, I'm going...I can't walk back, and I'm not endangering myself.

The cats thought it was ace..took them out in it. Kitten went utterly demented trying to swat/kill/eat the flakes, and the big one kept growling at them..

Ok finally made it in, just 45 mins late due to a couple of accidents on the A27.

I woke up to be greeted by this

Just had a phone call and email from Mark (Nedders) I don't think hes going to make it in at all by the looks of things,

Right I'm off to park my car in the warehouse, hopfully the screen wash jets will start working again.

Not so much snow here, but all the schools are closed. Pity I couldn't have been notified BEFORE I walked in to work:-( The school has recently bought into a texting service for just such an event - pity it didn't work:-( Now we have lots of angry parents (and support staff) who made the effort to go to school.

I could have stayed and done some work on the network, but some admin staff (including the head) arrived, so I've come home. I don't know if I want it to blizzard today so I get another day off tomorrow, will I get paid is the question?

Screen wash 100% concentration is a must for the next couple of days... If you've got water in there, you've got no chance..

Typical of Nedders though, knew he sounded like a slacker... Just so long as he's got my schools order sorted!

I know he kept bleeting on about how he can't see the roads and didn't want to write another car off so soon etc etc.

Just so long as he's got my schools order sorted!
He has it on the system they will be in production today/tomorrow

Update. Most schools in Winchester closed; not us though.

The M3 in fine, with only a few muppets doing either 20 or 70+, main roads OK, but the side roads are "interesting".

I'll not be staying until the end of school today (6:15) but will try to get home before dark. Much easier that way.
