So the inspectors turned up today and everyone is wearing the fixed smile that belies the terror underneath. Everything appears to be stable ITwise, fingers crossed it stays that way.
Thanks again to Joe and Simon at CPLTD for all their help getting us a new projector bulb at fairly short notice, it was a rollercoaster for a while chaps!

3rd December 2008, 09:04 AM #2 hehe enjoy, the school will be dead for a few days hopefully as teachers tend to avoid IT like the plague when OFSTED are in. Use the free time wisely, feet up kettle on!

Heh you are dead right, been through three now with other schools.
I don't really want do much in fear of causing problems, not that that usually happens but if anything is to go wrong, today is the day it is most likely to!

3rd December 2008, 09:27 AM #6 Interesting how new problems surface at this time.
A member of staff distributed a Smart notebook file to colleagues, for some reason it was made in a newer version to the one I install as standard and everyone else uses
Easily fixed *phew*

Actually, I've found it quieter than usual during inspections. In the run-up it's bedlam though!

Generally I agree, but things like this demonstrate the problem with OFSTED inspections, everyone suddenly starts working in a different way which throws up problems that don't usually happen, and I'm not limiting this to IT but across all subjects.
I mean, I happen to think that this school is great but a lot of the things that are great about it won't show up because people won't be doing the things they usually do. As said, IT use drops when inspections occur which is a shame as IT is well integrated in the curriculum.

3rd December 2008, 09:59 AM #9 We've got them in next week...you can SMELL the fear.
Me, I find it amusing. IT will work. I'm doing some additional bolstering today and smoothing a few wrinkles, but i'm happy for it to be any time, TBH.
