    Laptop Power Supply

Does anyone know where i could purchase a generic Laptop Power Supply? It's an old laptop that Elonex stuck their badge on and the current power supply is a Liteon one. Any ideas?

Find out what voltage and rating the old supply is, and give your favourite supplier a call with those details. They'll sting you for it, but there's not much you can do about that.

    Edit: Or ask Simon.

We've used loads of these with a variety of laptops with no problems at all. Sumvision Note book Power Adapter *** 90W*** - Ebuyer

At £11 they are a lot cheaper than the origional ones!

They do higher wattage ones as well if you need more power.

Have to agree with steveg. They work great. Not noticed ebuyer does them tho. Just have to check for the w. I normally get just the power pack, then order certain types of connectors, just remember to tape them otherwise staff loses them.

    Good old Ebay

I buy the universal PSU's from Ebay.

I usually buy 4 or so in a go and get a slight reduction in postage which helps, last lot worked out at £8 each.

There are some with 2 x USB ports built in and a little cover for the voltage selector, the cover is good because it stops people changing the voltage by accident and frying a laptop.

Its also worth having a couple spare as they can be used for a lot of other devices as well.

A power supply with built in USB Ports? I thought I'd seen everything but that's a new one.
