Did anyone else get a copy of Independent Schools ICT magazine in the post today? I did, and was suitably impressed. I looked at the cover and thought it would be the standard tedious "Computing"-style re-hash of press releases and dull industry pieces, but it actually does a pretty good job of summarising some of the tasks and issues that the average ICT Technician / Network Manager / whatever deals with. Articles included stuff on wireless systems, storage, and some handy hints for this term (I thought "write home to parents with suggestions and explanations on IT equipment in the lead-up to Christmas" was a good suggestion). Anyone else seen it?

15th October 2008, 08:59 AM #12 So rather than just boasting that you have a copy, could someone post a link to the company so that the rest of us can contact them?

15th October 2008, 09:02 AM #13 The web address is independentict.com and the editor's email address is bill@. I can't find any info about who publishes it though, it's a mystery.
Edit: There is a link to register for a copy at http://www.independentict.com/magazine.htm

15th October 2008, 09:07 AM #14 From this page, it seems Bill is at Kent College Pembury... I'll investigate further; that's near me... in fact I applied for a job there about 5 years ago!

15th October 2008, 09:09 AM #15 Thanks Powdermonkey - two of the articles listed are ideal for current projects here, shame it is an October magazine not a September one :-(
