If it's any help, this was the format of the last interview I had which was for a NM position:

    1) Walk around the school with a couple of Yr11 Students

    2) Two part question paper.
Part 1 - There are 15 laptops in Science that need replacing. How would you plan for thier replacement?
Part 2 - Based on your walk around the school, can you give us a review/overview of our current ICT provision.

    3) Interview with an 'IT Expert' from County IT Support.
    Questions:
    What is Active Direcory?
    What is an Object Unit?
    What is GPO?
What would you use a OU/GPO for?
    What is LDAP?
What do you know about WiFi?
Would you build PC's from scratch or buy from a supplier?
What do you think of Virtualisation?

    4) Interview with the Head, Bursar and a governor?
personality questions, ability to lead, purchasing, and general suitability for the job.

My interview was similar but a bit different.

    1) Part 1 of interview with last Network Manager, Assistant Head & Governor. Focussing on my knowledge of IT, what sort of things I had achieved in my prior jobs etc...
    2) A practical test, where I had to set up an account in Active Directory and a few other minor tasks (such as adding a computer to the domain).
    3) Part 2 of interview with same people, focussed more on personality and behaviour - lots of questions about what i'd do in certain situations such as if a pupil had a crush on me, or if a pupil was crying.

In my last interview one of the questions put to me by a panel of six was "if the headteacher came to your office requesting some help on his computer/laptop and there was 2 students with requests who would you deal with first"
Simple basic question but you would be surprised at the answers.
I would think basic questions get the most out of people even in practical events like creating a DHCP scope or reserving single and multiple addresses therein.
Also the one right at the end were they ask "what do you think you would bring to the school" alway's a killer as is all open ended questions i feel.

Isn't that one of them rhetorical questions ?

I had good practice at those from GCSE History.

In my old I.T. job working in 'industry' I had to come up with a list of questions for the guy to replace me. I choose (ish) these sort of questions:

    1) How would one go about sharing/networking printer
    2) What would you do if a user cannot connect to the network
    3) Explain the OSI model and how it could be used for troubleshooting (although realistically how many people actually do this?)
    4) What would you do if a user had a BSOD and on restart the computer would not boot to windows.
    5) Explain active directory
    6) What would you do if you were presented with: 169.254.x.y
    7) What command would you use to present 'detailed' information about the 'IP address of your computer'
    8) What is the ping command and how it might be used?

    etc, etc
