Does anybody know if these resources are ran as a webpage or as an application as obviously most schools have /should ban the running of exe files on the network?

I've sent for one anyway, to see how much I get spammed or if they are any good before I let the teachers know about them.

Someone asked me today about getting some USB sticks for the dept, so I pointed them in the direction of the link... This was because my local supplier has upped the price of the 1Gb sticks.. grr.. from 3.09 to 3.38.
Hopefully they'll do the hard work, and discover if they get spammed to death.

Hmm is this a real site. The mass email was sent to all our staff right now but as the saying goes about free lunches I am inclined to prevent them doing it.
    What is the real catch?

EDIT: They have no privacy policy. They say they wont spam via email but who knows what comes via phone. You MUST enter a number to join.

This whole promotion just looks like a sneaky marketing ploy to me.

From their website, the company running the memory4teachers promotion, RGS Media Group, are a marketing company who's remit is to promote other companies that want to sell stuff in the educational arena, rather than being a provider of educational resources to schools or LEA's themselves.

As Zero Hour says...there's no such thing as a free lunch...

I agree...brace for unsolicited contact, Captain!

    Pah!!

1Gb? I struggle to find space with my two 32Gb ones.

I've had a couple of staff ask me about it but since they already have 8Gb sticks and don't really want the expected spamfest that's bound to follow they've passed.

Has anyone received their "free" memory sticks yet? I have just been asked if there are any pitfalls, by the head. Would appreciate an update if that's possible please. Oh and the offer now says 2Gb.

And as the moon has now circled our fair planet once since we last visited this thread, dare I ask...did anyone ever receive their sticks?
