Im a Reading fan so not that bothered but it was a ridiculous decision...what that linesman had been smoking I dont know

We probably should have let them have a goal to make up for his stupidity but then again its not up to the players to make sure decisions are correct

Because it would kill the sport, having to stop it every 30 seconds to get a replay. Football is a quick paced game and it should stay that way.

After all, these referee's are the professionals and should be competent at doing their job.

you wouldn't need video playback for a ball that actually hit the crossbar flush and and rebounded right back into the penalty area

Unbelivably bad decision.....can only assume the linesman was daydreaming. The reaction [or lack of] the reading players should have given him a clue.

As for the reaction, the goalkeeper even put the ball down ready to take a goal kick!

That wasnt even what was given as the goal!
It was before that where Noel Hunt hooked it back into the box. It barely even crossed the touchline, and it was about 2 yards from the post!

About video replays - they really should be in place for goalline decisions. Nothing else really. Or even just the sensor that detects if the ball has gone between the posts. That would do! And wouldnt slow the game down.

But why? It's funny how the sport managed to survive the last century without camera's and bad decisions instead. So what if it's the 21st century? Some things are better left untouched and I believe this is one of them.

I really dont think so. Football is getting less and less entertaining every season. They bring out new rules every other week, why not one that will actually make a differance? And it wouldnt slow the game down at all, you dont have to stop the game while the 4th official watches a replay. Besides generally after every contrversial decision there is atleast a few minutes of players crying/surrounding the ref/throwing their toys out the pram.
