    Burning DVD's

    What am i doing wrong.

right got my video, which plays fine if i play it on my pc. Burnt it onto a DVD-R using Nero. Burn completed with no errors, go to play it on my DVD player it plays but the image is disorted with those green/pink squares like when your watching a streaming video.

Any ideas how to stop this?

    Thanks

Try burning it at a slower speed, ususally find this helps with those sorts of problems.

dvd player / video file ?

The video file(s) is it a divx or xvid type of file that you are trying to play on a dvd player that supports divx / xvid codecs or is the video file(s) converted into a dvd format and then burnt to the dvd-r ?

Also what file type(s) is the video file(s) ?

VideoHelp.com - Forum, Guides, Tools and hardware lists and Doom9.net - The Definitive DVD Backup Resource should help you out

How long is the video? It could have transferred at a low data rate to fit on the disk.

    Hi,

It's an AVI, 687mb so should fit onto a DVD-R and i'm guessing Nero does all the conversion.

Will try a slower speed, didnt consider that.

You really need to convert it using Nero Vision and then burn the DVD to be sure of it working nicely in standard DVD players

I would convert the .avi to mpeg2/vob outside of the burning software, then you can check it is properly DVD compliant.
