I don't thinks any occasion where wearing cords would be considered trendy.

Was it the eBay ad for Farah Trousers that prompted this thread out of interest.

Oh and I ain't worn cord trousers since I was about 5 or 6.

No I didn't see the eBay ad. I thought Farah went out of business in the 90s?

I think there was talk of a farah resurgence not so long ago....with the new offerings from the classic marque supposedly costing an arm and a leg [excuse the pun]...they weren't all that cheap back in the 80's but nostalgic sentiment and fashion trends do have a habit of punting prices to stupid levels. I was never going to bite that particular resurgence seeing as i'm no longer 10 years of age....combats all the way for me nowadays.

Cords are just all wrong....they are true old-codger material. They also have the ability to age the under 35's who choose to take partake in this particular fashion trend faux pas.... The only way cords could look trendy is if you asked elle macpherson to try a pair of them on....but then again an attractive woman with a curvy figure will look good in just about anything.

i did try socks with sandals once....and yes, i did feel a tit....but not so much for the socks/sandals combo....but more that i was wearing sandals to go down to the high street on a breezy, overcast day ....but it was supposed summer!!!!! I could feel the non-existent stares. the shame of it.

I'm sure if you write into Top Gear and ask James May, he'll provide you with at least 100 shops to get leather patches ;-)

Top Gear? Is that something to do with clothes?

No, just a presenter with the same fashion sense, and I'm sure he'll gladly share his tips about cords and patches.
