Thumbs down Cheap USB pen drives ?

I was looking around and found these....

1GB Arianet Silver Shadow Pen Drive - Aria Technology

45p for 1GB is not bad ... I have noticed that there isn't a great amount of stock, but they do have some good prices.

    Notice this

Only one per order and Web Only!
    Above the order button, shame!

The Firefly range on Misco Computer Parts, PC Components, Desktop Computers, Laptops, Notebooks - Misco.co.uk are well worth a look. 8GB for under twenty quid. Bigger than the hard drives of most computers 6 years ago!

REALLY cheap USB drives tend to be a false economy, the failure rate on the cheap ones the school used to by was astronomical.

Personally I only get brand name ones nowadays, Kingston, etc

The same's true for just about anything. Cheap's fine if it doesn't really matter (and is a bit of a use and throw away job anyway), but if you want something to last, cheap will cost twice as much in the long run.

I added one of these onto my last order from them. Works out nice and cheap if you add it on, but not so good by itself.
