Things to do on strike days!

Well apart from the jobs left by the boss of the house, I'm now about to start working through my 2008 server MCITP training kit. Fun days ahead!

What are you guys up to!?

And for those in work, trust me I'd rather be there to, we're packing up to move schools and there's loads left to do by 4:00pm Friday!!

After being on the picket line outside the school I spent the morning hammering down floor boards etc (again jobs left by the "boss")

I did consider for a few seconds carrying on with my ccnp course.. but then decided I'm going to go to the pub this afternoon instead

Checking my e-mails and doing admin tasks - ordering, preparing new e-mail system and updating the room booking timetables for next year.

I am probably going to get more work done these two days then I would normally get done in the whole of the last week of term.

The technician is at work by himself so am sending him jobs as and when I think of them which means I have less to do in the holidays. The other technician has been moved into the reprographics department for the last term as the reprographics technician left so we have been a man down for a number of weeks anyway, so any jobs that aren't done I will pick up during the summer hols.

So you're on strike but your doing work?
Yeah, I don't get this either.
When the teachers went on strike recently, I asked them if I could have their laptops for that day to do some maintenance on them. Answer was "NO! we have lots of work to do at home that day!"

erm..... arn't you supposed to be on strike?
If you're still working during that day, don't be so damn lazy and just GO TO WORK!

Um, don't think the NUT would have been too pleased about that

Spent morning on the picket line, studying for an OU course this afternoon after doing all the jobs the boss left of course
Loads of support on the picket, completely the opposite to what I was expecting.
What was quite amusing is that our delivery of several pallet loads of PC's have turned up early. All our technicians are on strike and the caretaker who was in as he is in GMB not Unison refused to move them as it is a job we would normally do, so some of the SLT ended up moving them.
Probably first time they've broke into a sweat in years!

Good to hear of support - though the local media seem to be also.

And when the PCs don't work you will be able to blame poor handling?
