Woohoo!! but ouch at nadal![]()
what was the result tonight? guessing it went all the way from the time?
Nice one! fingers crossed for him against Nadal then!
will need to check when he's playing and try to follow it!
Play Wednesday I believe. One hell of a match - got home from work to see him 2 sets down, thought it'd all be over, then boy he picked his game up! Winning the tie in the 3rd was heart in your mouth time!
Dont get to watch tennis much these days - family and all that![]()
watched most of the safin-vs-warwinka on court no.1 over on bbci instead....
Andy murray has about as much charisma as a packet of cornflakes, and his tennis game is just as interesting
whereas the mens tournament so far has been all about the last hurrah of one of the most talented and charismaric players of the last 20 years.....watching safin hit blistering winners, lose the plot on occasion, and failing to hit his first serve almost every serve and yet still win was far more interesting than watching the faux fist-pumping of the dour cornflake packet over on centre.
Just a shame for safin that he's scheduled to meet THE most talented player of the last 20 years in the semi's....he's a serious outsider if that semi-final happens, even more unlikely than a murray victory over nadal in the QF....
but wouldn't it be great to see a Murray-Safin final, and to see Safin stun the wimbledon crowd into silence as he obliterates the home favourite.....
it would be a final befitting the great finals of 2000 and 2001 before federer and his cardies ruined wimbledon for every tennis fan.
And it would mean safin finally doing justice to his awesome ability....2 grand slam titles means he's been an underachiever, 3 and he goes some way to are
reddressing those years of underachievement. But in all honesty i can't see beyond a Nadal-Federer final......again![]()
So who got out of the wrong side of bed this morning?
Go Andy! Well played.![]()

I was riveted last night
I had to go to a meeting starting at 8pm and was convinced Murray was going to lose. I was amazed, when I put the car radio on, to hear that they were about to start the 5th set!
Murray does need to do some work with the crowd. Nobody minds Scots being ferociously Scottish. However if you want the support of the Great Britain, it is better not to alienate a large percentage of the population (i.e. the English). If the English can get behind Germans like Becker and Stich there is hope for Murray; but he does need to be careful about what he says and how he says it.
He's not a firm enough crowd pleaser to get away with 'tongue-in-cheek' comments yet!
I'm British and, as such, I shall be supporting Murray on Wednesday! (Nadal's better looking tho')
Great match! Even more so me as i had money on Murray to win 3-2Will be extremely tough against Nadal though, can't see anything but a straight sets win for the Spaniard.
