Does BECTA use the ICT exam writers?
Just read this interesting blog posting about the issues an open source provider had when attempting to tender for a BECTA contract. It shows up a few valid issues with the tendering process that they used.

I guess Bectards are stuck in the middle of a game of politics, they've recently been accused of being too anti-establishment by supporting open-standards. By rigging a contract towards a non-open source company they are seeking to clear their name in the eyes of the corporates.

I did not realize that it was related to the same incident, I thought that it was a fresh misjudgment on BECTAs part. It just showed up as one of the lead stories on the Free Software Magazine newsletter.
