Network Manager - Job Description
Responsible to: The Headmistress
Line Manager: The Deputy Head
Responsible for: Network Technician and Network Technician (Placement)
To advise the SMT on strategic planning for ICT and on the development and use of ICT in the curriculum and administration.
To be responsible for the development and support of the School's ICT networks.
To ensure that the School is compliant with all current and future legislation and best practice principles.
To oversee the work of the ICT staff (network technicians).
To be responsible for the preparation and management of the ICT budget.
To develop the infrastructure of the network to ensure the School’s ability to utilise new technologies.
To keep abreast of technological developments and implement those which would benefit the School.
To ensure where possible that the School is acting responsibly and legally with respect to copyright, computer misuse and data protection.
To provide School-wide network management.
To manage the design, configuration and deployment of School ICT systems.
To support the School ICT Systems, providing replacements and repairs as necessary.
To provide support and training for ICT users.
To manage the production and maintenance of all systems documentation and record logging.
To manage the School ICT inventory.
To manage and monitor ICT security policies, backups and anti-virus control.
To manage the School’s various Web developments (including Internet and Intranet sites)
To assist and advise on the implementation of the School ICT Development Policy.
To employ safe working practices and to comply with the relevant Health and Safety regulations.
To manage the ICT budget in accordance with School procedures.
To undertake any other relevant duties as may reasonably be requested by Senior Management.
