Does my nut in too !! 300 laptops later and 9 out of 10 times its oh the key just happened to ping off or it flew off as I pressed it.
Which I doubt very much as i can press the keys pretty danged hard and they never ping off, Ive had to literally lever the keys off with a screw driver to make em go flying.
This is on Dell D520 Latitude laptops btw - at least in my case.

Someone always seems to have constructed a handy macrame hanging basket out of the cabling and getting it out without loosening the wires to every other electrical appliance in the room is impossible !

I agree with that one! I'm still missing a couple of keys on my laptop because they broke when I was trying to reattach them. A few swear words were said that night.
