    Be Unlimited Internet

Seems they have just unbundled my local exchange. The business pro package 24meg down 2.5meg up looks ideal. That uplink speed will be great for my slingbox. Anyone used Be before? Are they any good?

I think it's the Be Pro package so it's £22 per month with a £24 connection fee.

I've been with them for a few months, fantastic service.

I get 17Mbps down, and 1.5Mbps up. No caps, no traffic shaping. £18UKP pcm.

How does it work for phone calls - do they still get routed through BT and do you still pay yer line rental to BT?

nice to see a positive response. I think i will go for it then. Just need to see if I can somehow get out of my contract with BT Business.

Also, anyone know what router they give you if you use the multiple static IPs? The 2wire supplied by BT has to be one of the worst Ive used!

Be will show a speed increase over any 8Meg nominal connection, as it is ADSL2+, for example our 8Meg lines here get ~1.5 real-world, Be is up at 5.7.

The router for multiple IPs is the frankly awful speedtouch. Will be replacing it when I get around to it

They're not bad once you realise that the only way to configure them properly is via the cli. the gui is basic in the extreme.

speedtouch is ok for a home box, but for a business dsl connection i'd definitely upgrade to a cisco 1800 or similar device.

The badged speedtouch I got with my O2-branded Be connection about three months ago just died! And it was utter c*ap while it was alive to be honest. Worked OK for a couple of months, then started to lose sync very frequently, and finally carked it over a weekend away, so I came back to a router with only one light on on it.

Connection now working much better (as it happens) with a salvaged Netgear DG834GT
