Lol, looks like their tech support doesn't understand contention ratios or the concept of having a crap feed to the exchange itself...

No they do not, we go round and round and round in circles.

I am going to claim through the small claims court for breach of contract, to terminate the contract and get my money back.

They've had problems with rDNS recently and started to blame anyone and everyone ... the best one I heard of was saying that mail was bouncing (the sender explained it was going to a school ... forgetting to explain that the 'school' was a faculty at a university) due to improper configuration of routers at the destination, probably done by someone who was bought in cheaply as many schools can't afford people who know their stuff, especially in the States.

Erm ... it was an email to MIT. To the school of engineering ...

Worse yet, they have even told BT that we can only have a 2MBs line. So thats what the computer tells any phone jockey who "does a line test (looks it up on the BT broad band checker)". You can check any number in our road and be told 6Meg, check our number you get told 2meg, arghhhhh!

    Going back to BT ASAP.

Tell me about it, we've had no end of users with issues with bad speed of late - Freedom2Support - The Independent Freedom2Surf Support Community is the place to see it all (im one of the staff from the forum so I see it all!)

I have had the phone droids put the phone down on me several times because I pick holes in their arguments.

    One conversation went.

Droid :Your network is at fault.
Meh : Its a plain Vanilla cat 5 network and I am a MCP. What exactly do you think I have got wrong?
Droid : Do you have wireless?
    Meh : Yes.
Droid : Someone is stealing your bandwidth! Check your security.
Meh. : Its Tkip with mac address filtering.
Droid : mutters and puts the phone down.

    I kid you not.

    Angry

Definitely leave them but be careful how you do it.
They kept trying to charge me for their service for a couple of months after I had left. Naturally you refuse to pay for a service you are not using and they handed the dept over to a dept collection ageny (for £35). Fortunately I managed to get it sorted but be warned. The payments and services departments do not speak to each other.

Is why I have already drafted the paper work for the small claims court.

I don't mind doing the court thing, and it cost them £30 a pop, and they cannot win, not with six months of evidence on my side.

My connection is still workable at present but when they merge whats left of our once amazing Freedom2Surf connection into the Tiscali network next quarter I think it will be curtains. Considering setting myself up as an Enta.net reseller and opening Edu-ISP selling decent Internet to Edugeek members, only downside is no support from me as we should all be able to sort it ourselves
