Anyone running any distributed computing projects?

I was just wondering if anyone was running any of these as their screen savers etc? I was thinking about running one. I was thinking of the folding one but according to our county web filters its a no no to help cure cancer but its ok to search for aliens :?

    Conspiracy?

I'd check the security of the screensavers first to make sure they don't leave anything open for attack or open up a hole so users can run things you don't want them to.

I had a bit of a play with cluster knoppix.
The idea was to use a thin client server, but to distribute some of the load to the clients.
It never really got off the ground, I gave up because restarting a client would crash the process that it was running.

    cluster knoppix is here:

screensavers - you'll be using 100% cpu, so it's not power consumption friendly, still pretty cool though.

I personally run the grid.org one (used to be know more by UD - United Devices). Run it at home and one my machine at work. Would probably not run it on the workstations at school, but I think its a good idea using surplus power for a good cause.
