Hate to say it but what on earth was the teacher like that 9 children would gang up like that and actually be ready to carry it all out?!!!

Who didn't think about planning to beat up their teacher when they were at school? These kids just went one step further and brought the gear into school to do it with, prolly just showing each other how tough they were or whatever. These kids are 9, it would take a small army of them to overpower an adult. Media over-reaction yet again.

I don't think it is overreaction at all - yes I agree that children do plot things like this but to go as far as bringing in the weapons etc...
As for the small army of 9 year olds - I work in a school where there are lots of 9 year olds and some of them are pretty big. It wouldn't take more than 3 of them to overpower me if they caught me by surprise

the problem I have is that 9 years olds planned something so horrible...

they need to see someone if they have thoughts like tieing someone up and planning to cut them and stuff...

We aren't going to do the old internet question of how many kids could you take on before they overpowered you are we? Because normally it is 2 year olds, so if we are changing the goal posts to 9 year olds then a whole new strategy will need to be thought up!

I think it's disgusting. You'd never have thought of anything like that when I was 9!! It's a shock how much the world has changed in 11 years!

I think it is probably down to the lack of discipline that seems to have appeared in schools around the world. Or a side effect of the mind control drugs they put in the water :P

their parents probably let them watch a lot of junk tv...

they could have got the idea from LOST for example... they torture each other in that program!

hmm... I think it is a media over reaction, but i must say the tying up of teachers is very tempting when teachers want CD's copying and i am trying to recover somebodies work!!

Exactly what i was thinking! I know a few teachers who would have thoroughly deserved what those kids were planning (not in the school i work at btw)
