    Tip of the week

Couple of weeks ago i decided it might be a good idea to send an All Staff email containing a "Tip of the Week" - so, I'm sending this out each Wednesday.
So far I've sent only two, but i can see what will happen in the future; we'll be too busy and before i know it Wednesday is here again and i'll be struggling to send something worthwhile.
What i don't want to do is start sending out crap [how to close an application] just to send something. The plan was to give the staff useful tips they could use.

The two i sent already included

    • Dragging/creating self contained email files from Outlook
    • Turning off the annoying Office clipboard they complained about

    Anyone interested in sharing tips?

Lay out a large sheet of polythene on your lawn. People flying overhead will think you have a pool.

    Some more Top Tips.

Avoid getting prosecuted for using your phone while driving. Simply pop your mobile inside a large shell and the police will think you are listening to the sea.

DON'T waste money on j expensive iPods. Simply think of your favourite tune and I hum it. If you want to "switch tracks", simply think of another song you like and hum that instead.

CINEMAGOERS: Have consideration for pirate DVD viewers by using the toilet before the film starts.

RAPPERS: Avoid having to say: "Know what I'm sayin'" all the time by actually speaking clearly in the first place.

    1. Don't eat red or brown snow either!

    2. Your favourite beverage (end of term), gives people the chance to save

    3. I regularly find users don't know the fundamental basics such as creating folders!

    1. Cold peas aren't hot.

    2. IT people have a life too.

    3. Go out on a limb, that is where the fruit is.

Or you could just use this website and adapt the 'Tip of the week' for your self.

    http://cis.tamu.edu/training/tips/index.php

Hope this is of some help.

    Cheers,

Tip of the week for me to staff/students would be:

Insert photos into word/powerpoint documents and not copy and paste. By inserting a photo rather than copying it your cutting the file size by huge amounts.
