    Norfolk Pay Restructure?

    Hi all,

There is some kind of "Pay Restructure" and "Standard Contracts" thing being done in Norfolk.
    I think its called "MRS"?

I was wondering if anybody knows any more information and or if they have had the restructure done
    at their School? Good/Bad comments?

I currently work at a large high school in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

I managed to get a little raise last year but I am still underpaid for the work I do and I have heard some
people have had pay-drops with the restructure in other parts of the country.

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated

    Take care everyone!!
    Chris

When I jumped on at a school in the region, non teaching staff had to attend interviews to determine whether a pay structure across the county was a good idea.

The atmosphere over it wasn't too great. As it is I'm contracted for 37.5 hours and having to do 40-42 to keep on top of things and even then there isn't enough hours in the day.

We want rises not falls! but yes... anyone with more detailed information on this would be good...

    Hi there,

You need to have a look here for how the MRS project is proceeding (or not)

If you want a national picture of how well (or otherwise) this process is going across the UK take a look at http://www.labouruniondigest.org.uk/...php?page_id=13

All jobs in norfolk have been evaluated we are now waiting for them to pull their fingers out of their bottoms and send out the letters to everyone detailing what your new job description/title/grade will be.

If you salary goes down it will be protected for I think 3 years,

This was supposed to be implemented last april and we will be very lucky to have it implemented before this april which will be interesting for payroll as they will have to pay things from across 2 years.

They have enough trouble getting the monthly wages payments correct as it is.

If you salary goes down you have the right to appeal and your school should have decided on what format this appeal process will take by now.

Here they are just going to pass us all on to county.

I still can't believe that the unions will let the lea pay anyone less but it's a possibility.

the MRS in Norfolk couldn't be more unorganised if it tried!

There have been constant promises but no action. I appreciate it is a large job, but when they promise something by a deadline, is it too much to as for them to stick to it?!
