    Sorry - I'd read your post as saying "teachers get licences because their school has them" when in fact you say the complete opposite!!

    Compatibility shouldn't be a problem so long as the student saves as a 2k3 or 2k database. There is really good compatibility for the older formats in Access. I just had a look at it on my pc and it is so much more friendly looking than before.
