We have been told that if it snows and the Head closes the school Pupils do not have to come in, Teachers stop at home and work (Yeah right) but the Support staff have to come in and do their hours. as I live 20 miles away and travel along country A roads that should be fun!!!

If you can't safely get in then don't even try. There is no point risking accidents just to go to an empty building.

30th January 2008, 12:41 PM #26 Living in Kent for the last 20 years (i'm a Yorkshire ex-pat), I have become aware that we appear to share a gritter with Sussex and Essex. I'm not sure if it's KCC's turn to have it this weekend.
Hope not, I was hoping for a good excuse to avoid going to the in-laws in Buckinghamshire on Sunday!

Want some of my snow? I've got a good few feet to spare....although this week has been warmer - daytime temperatures actually above 0C for a change

As a kid of 6-9 in Connecticut I remember winters with snow deeper than I was tall (by quite a long way). I miss proper winters...
