Does anyone have a copy of winINSTALL LE 2003 (the free version) that they can send me. Ours has gone belly up and I cant find the install file or remember where I got it from.
Maybe a working URL would be better?
Thanks
They charge $49 for it now.
They used to have a phrase on their website saying "our continued commitment to the principle that you should never have to pay for a “Standard Edition” MSI packager".
Now it been amended to "our continued commitment to the principle that you should never have to pay hundreds of dollars for a “Standard Edition” MSI packager".
A pretty quick googling came up with Link
This should do it
am downloading now ....

Theres another free MSI Creator advinst.msi which is attached to this message their site is here Advanced Installer.
That looks like a nice little package I just had a go with it. Looks very much like Wise in the interface departmentOriginally Posted by wesleyw

The Professional and Java versions of course are time limited (30 Days) but the simple package builder (A better option to WinInstall LE, I think) is freeware.
I may try this for a bit as the professional price isnt too bad. Ive been looking for a while for a decent packager low cost packager. I have given up on the fact that I will never be able to get one with all the features I want like conflict detection etc due to the astronomical price.
I think though that this used with the Flexnet admin studio whos setup capture module doesnt expire after 30 days will fulfill most of my needs.
Ah I just noticed it doesnt let you import and edit MSIs![]()
You might want to give AdvancedInstaller a try. There's a free version avalible that does enough for me.

look up a few posts that what I am talking about .

If you have Ghost you could use the AI builder. It doesn't package them as MSIs but you can still distribute them through the ghost console.
Thats what I did when they started charging for WinInstallLE and its sufficient.
I now have Wise (with all the fancy conflict detection etc.), but prior to getting that I produced getting on for 200 MSIs of curriculum software using the basic repackager in InstallShield. I've had no problems with conflicts, although all my PCs are built fresh (ie RIS build then all MSI based software).
The previous version of WININSTALL LE is available on a Windows 2000 Server CD in \VALUEADD\3RDPARTY\MGMT\WINSTLE
