Can you get a paid moving day from the LEA?

Just wanted to check this even happens in some areas before I ask and potentially look like a fool!

A friend that works in a re-integration centre, which comes under the same LEA as my school, reckons he got a paid moving day when he moved house

Im moving out next week and while I will take a days holiday if needed, i'd prefer a paid day obviously! Does this happen with some councils?

Yes, I have been told that too. 1 day grace period to sort your stuff out. Ask your personel dept if no one in the school can help. I cant say for certain as I've never needed to take advantage of it, but ask anyway, you've got nothing to loose

Definately entitled in Birmingham LEA - took advantage of it a couple of years ago when I moved house.

Most la's have this in work conditions along with a a day for childs grad ceremony.

Not part of the greenbook well had quick scan and can;t see it. Check google as often work conditions are posted up on the net for each la.

Never heard of either a moving day or a graduation day - I bet Dorset don't do it!
