You get this when too many requests to Google come from one IP. As your entire school is probably going via one proxy and/or your RBC uses a pool of proxy servers it's very easy to hit this limit.

In my experience that message only appears for a short period of time. You will probably find by after lunch today it will not appear anymore.

I guess once there is enough responses to prove its nothing dodgy.

Our RBC are trying to talk to Google about adding the IPs to a white list - not sure if they'll be successful!

We've been having this in Bradford recently, not ever had it before, so perhaps Google have just tightened up the tolerance. Seems to kick in after lunch, but is fine by the next day. Caused a few staff to panic, thinking they have a virus. Our LA is trying to speak to Google about putting our IP on a whitelist, but they said they are a nightmare to speak to.

I had that as well and when the RBC eventually replied to my calls about it they said that Google had banned them because of the multiple calls from one IP, they seem to have it sorted now (sits with fingers crossed touching all available wood!). In the meantime they redirected all requests for google to yahoo.

We had a similar issue with Google at my last corp. job, turns out on 4 of the servers we had malware running scripts to search googledorks and send them to some chinese e-mail address! Maybe worth checking, although i'm sure you've checked these kinds of avenues already... it took ages for google to rectify this and put us on a whitelist, in the period between we had to use one of our foreign servers and forward requests for google from our local one - slow!
