Ah, well that was fun. Just did a quick scan for bluetooth devices from my desk (I have a classroom above me) and found 3 phones connectable. I popped into the classroom and mentioned it and 3 kids suddenly looked so shocked!
Great fun!
I hope you ripped thier phone book, sms messages, photos and movies first.
You get bonus points for re-routing the school internet via their GPRS.

Haha, I'm not quite that much of a BOFH I'm afraid.

Don't even know how to do that!!
Bluetooth snarfing is a hobby of mine - specially when in public places like pubs, cafes, stations - or anywhere were there is a large collection of people.....
*makes mental note... turn off blue tooth when around mattx*
The last time I was doing some shopping I got loads of bluetooth files sent to me. They were rather.... interesting... I never knew the human body could bend so much... mmm...
My old phone used to be able to browse, cannot figure out how to do anything on my n73 except send people a message/picture or whatever. And even that needs their permisison.
yeah i have to put codes in and stuff...
I always thinks it'd be so easy in school to do that scam where you earn pots making them call a premium rate number - schoolkids are such an easy target.
I knew there was a good reason that I never leave my bluetooth onThat and it eats power.
Heh...I have a bluetooth USB doodad in my PC, ever since a kid lobbed it through my door and said "this pendrive is S....."..
Plonker. He never wanted it back. It's funny how many kids had bluetooth phones from christmas though...they all come up. Some staff too!
I'm glad BT isn't on on my IPaq...the kids were BTing dubious material (of another student, say no more but pass the the puke bucket, please) around last week...and other kids were heard to say "I never thought of taking pics of myself...oh yeah..!"..
We've had incidents of it before...notably "look Sir - porn on my PSP" etc..but they now know BT is available and out of our control..![]()
Am I correct in stating that there's no commercially sold bluetooth jammers yet..?
It's illegal to jam signals, whether that be bluetooth, GSM or otherwise.
Damnation. IIRC, BT and Wifi are both on 2.4Ghz, are they not?
Block one, kill both..not feasible.

Unless you built a faraday cage of some kind ("magnetic" iron-filing paint?) around each classroom, then put a wireless access point inside each one to relay your wireless signals. Not, actually, completely infeasible (basically consisting of a coat of paint and wiring a wireless access point into each classroom), but still wouldn't block signals outside classrooms.
