3 hrs round trip public transport and walk.

Used to be in the field and covering 65K plus a year so at least now I can leave the driving to someone else and fall asleep If I can.

mrwitch used to do 75 miles to work with no motorway - used to take him 2.5 hours each way. Nearly killed him.

Me? One school is 1 mile away and the other is 4

It's great but puts me off changing job as I can't bear the thought of the commute

Quarter of a mile. That would have been around 14 seconds in my old Mitsubishi GTO TT!

Takes about 2-3 mins on foot.

It does have its downside though - the car battery is always flat as I don't use it daily.

20 miles a day on the buses. 3 Hours of travel at least, currently. 1 mile of walking and 9 on buses there, and I'm too shattered to walk the way back in the evenings so I tend to wait for the later buses.

5 minute walk from house to desk. According to Samsung Health it's about 650 steps.

    1.5 mile/10 minute cross-country bike ride or 4.5 mile/20-30+ minutes by car.

To all those that live near work as in walking distance, do you get any grief off the kids?

I've been here 4 years now and, touch wood, nothing so far.

As we don't hand out detentions and stuff like that I think they see us as fairly benign.
