and my new years resolution will be 1920×1080 when I can find a 1080p TV that'll work with my PC that doesn't cost £1k+

To be more understanding towards teaching staff. As long as nobody contacts me beforehand then I should be able to keep that one until the 7th Jan.

To just TRY and understand teaching staff should be good enough!

    Mine, I think, will be:

*Start exercising properly - I'm neither under or overweight, I'm just unfit.
    *Pass my MCSA
    *Be less single
    *Learn to drive
    *Sort out my finances properly

I was going to add 'be nice to teachers' to my list but it'd be pointless as I'd break it within an hour of the first day back.....

Don't you spend the 1st hour of the day hiding in your office behind a locked door?

    Re: New Years Resolutions.

Well I will continue to enjoy me 22" Widescreen TFTs at work and my 19" Sonys at home so its 2560x1024 for me at home

Oh and as for resolutions, well move on from my current job, i've been trying and basically making stupid mistakes like turning offers down that I probably should have accepted.
Eeer maybe trying to do my MS Training around working as I won't let work sort for me due to various factors that I won't discuss here.
Maybe start up my own firm instead, but still work in education but ensure the schools get a decent fair deal rather than ripping them off, I cannot stand to see schools taken advantage of it disgusts me.

But in the end I have sort of been thinking that being an edugeek, infact geeking in general may not be for me anymore, I think im gonna go into theatre technical instead, more fun really, I just love playing with wobbly buckets and they have network cards in them now so its kinda crossing over more into my current work anyway.

But my main hope is that we have a good year and all is well

    Re: New Years Resolutions.

Is it just me or does anyone else find new year a bit of an anti climax.

I've been in education so long I always feel that Sept is the new year and the one in Jan goes largely un-noticed. Roll on July, August and 5 weeks off work!

    Re: New Years Resolutions.

Get a new job - either in IT (more hours, more responsibility) or something completely different.

Practice my French Horn playing ( doing Dvorak's New World next - very difficult for horns)

    Have more fun!
