May sound odd. Put put a towl over them and heat them with a iron "briefly". Works a treat on every sticker on a laptop. So well I invested in a heat gun.

We used some kind of foamy stuff (it was actually a screen cleaner) but because it sprayed on as a liquid and quickly expended into more of a foam-ish it was pretty good for getting in sticky labels.. Combine that with some kind of flat, firm plasticky utensil (I actually used a spare blank drive bay cover) and some elbow grease and it worked for me. Took probably a few minutes per sticker, and these were on something awful.

Realistically just get anything that scrapes without damaging the laptop, and something to hydrate the sticky residue, and you should be alright.

+1 for this. The heat 'melts' the glue. You might end up with some residue but it's fairly easy to clean. Try using a hair dryer if you're not happy ironing your laptops.

Eucalyptus oil works fantastically for tape or label residue. It also removes gum from hair like nothing else.
