An obvious spam email hit my box today saying that Amazon had noticed unusual activity on my account... click here (Yer Right!).
Don't need to be telling this community, but just watch out for it.
It isn't very enticing, no pictures, not even a decent email address (email@example.com).

We are getting a mad amount of phishing attacks of late. Any email address that's searchable via google is typically being hit!
As a World of Warcraft gamer I get hit with a ton of these phishing attempts and when the email is from firstname.lastname@example.org...ration.com.net to an email address you don't even use in WoW it's pretty obvious. But I get regular panicked phone calls from my dad about these mails.
Just like the Viagra E-Mails, you don't have to be suffering from "problems getting up" to receive a spam about them. Just another blind mailshot hoping to hit a few real WoW players.
Not Amazon but I got this sent to my helpdesk email (viewable on our website) the other day:
My name is Veronica Rathore.
We are an IT based company. I see that you offer Web Design / SEO Services and would like to know if you are willing to outsource some or part SEO Campaigns or web related work to us.
We have our internal systems geared up for such an association and should you be interested kindly drop me a quick mail and I will revert. Also if you want, we can set up a call to explore mutual synergies.

I see that you offer Web Design / SEO Services - Yes, we do do that. Using the guise of a schools IT department -_-
I emailed back with
"my site consists of a header which has an html5 canvas script running. other than that i have no content and the site is there for me to test things, pray tell how you would 'boost my ratings'...."
i know, no point emailing back, but some who try the "personal touch" emails sound worse than the mass spam I R HAZ YOR $45MIL emails
I get tons of the WoW spams all the time, thank the lord for Authenticator Apps and two step auths on anything major in my online life !
I had a chat with a colleague earlier about this and I still cannot believe that in this day and age people fall for some scams though where they give people stuff like pin numbers over the telephone though, email scams are a bit more fraught, because to the average joe nowadays and the use of HTML in emails, everything "looks official" even though its not, sometimes plain text was a lot better I think for spotting scams.
