    Yikes!

A ticket came in "Computer working but nothing on monitor or projector". Without even going, I knew what the problem would be. The rooms in this building are fitted with VGA splitters from The Dodgy VGA Splitter Company Inc. Of the seven rooms, I have replaced three over the last 12 months. It is the box of electronics which fails, not the power supply. Anyway, off I trot with a new VGA splitter of a more reliable make. I unplug the power supply from the splitter and then I pull it out of the wall. See the result. I think I was lucky, especially as I hadn't turned the switch off. I think I shall make this my new policy.

It's just modular. Front module, rear module. Central 'painful death' module optional.

I would unplug them all immediately however you would have been kinda ok as the RCD would kick if you were to come into contact with the live wires (Ive done it before )

How about running a bead of superglue around the join between the front and back shells as an emergency interim measure?

Terrible design flaw though - should have been bonded at the factory I would have thought.

Yep, we've had some of those too. One of them, the Earth pin (oh, which by the way, was plastic. So useless! Shouldn't be legal to have no earth..) had melted off and gotten stuck inside the socket. Lovely.

I'd advise you get rid of 'em all, before they cause some serious issues.

If its Class II and is double insulated then it doesn't need to be earthed.

Precisely! There's no reason to not give something an earth just in case, far as I see it.
Maybe I just don't know much about electrickery, though. I'm not exactly an expert
