    Also a good tactic is to get a car that's uncommon for your age. When I was 19 a Volvo S40 diesel was cheaper for me to insure than a Corsa. Madness!

    Didn't think Pass Plus was still a thing...(even though you don't have it)
    I'd read somewhere that it didn't matter as ins co's overlooked it

    when your licence arrives - look at the groups of vehicles permitted to drive.

    My brother (good few years older than me but learned to drive ages after I did) cant drive/tow half the stuff I can - he's had to do "top ups" he calls them

    No, anyone with a 'new' license can't tow anything I dont think! I'd need to take another test for that!

    You can tow anything up to 750KG or where your car and the trailer don't weigh more than 3,500KG.

    Anything over you need the B+E entitlement!

    I had the same issue although don't need to tow anything just yet so will take that later on.

    This. Like I said I had a 2l 175bhp car in my second year for fraction of the price my mates were paying for their 1l French beans tins.
