Never had this error but it appears to be incorrect login details for domain join.

Error 2202: You specified an invalid user name or group name.

Can you actually add the computer to the domain manually after it has been fogged? (as in is it only the "automatic" domain joining that errors?)

Personally I never got on well with some of the fog stuff like joining the domain so I have implemented a set of scripts that run after a build to install drivers grab software updates and join the domain based on the name of the computer into the right OU.

Either way let me know when it is erroring maybe I can think of something.

Also a similar post on the fog project forum... (links below)

They managed to get it to work without an OU filled in and using domain\administrator in the user field.

Hi there, some stuff to check. You need to get the bin file version of the hostname change.ell from the original download and edit it with a secret key and password (domain admin join) and turn it in to a dll with visual studio. Then get fog crypt from the download and use the secret key from the .dll to encrypt your domain password.

That goes in the fog server settings page, you need to make sure magic quotes is enabled in ubuntu and that you have installed the fog client on the machine to join before susprep and replace the hostname change. dll file with yours.

Also probably best to use fog 0.32 as it's more reliable and did away with a lot of the bugs.

Finally apologies I'm writing this on my phone. When I get to a pc I'll provide some links but Google the stuff I mentioned. Hope it helps.

For the settings 'Join Domain After Imaging' Try removing the organisational unit path that you specified for your machines to go into in AD, just to test if your having a problem with the container syntax. Then try again.

    Domain name: school.local
    Organizational Unit: OU=HighSchool,DC=school,DC=local <<remove>>
    Domain Username: administrator
    Domain Password: *encrypted with FOGCrypt*

    i sorted it
instead of having domain\myname in user name I simply removed the domain and \ and it works sweet as a nut

Thanks to all for their input

    happy days
