We had to get the LEA legal team to write to them. Took ages though.

Its not easy! We had the police involved in our case, They contacted them to get it removed.
I agree with rush_tech, when I flagged up something to youtube, they ignored it.
In the end the student was threatened with permanent exclusion unless he removed it!
Youtube, Wikipedia, Myspace, Bebo, Facebook are all becoming a total headache when it comes to students & schools.
Last year I had a video of our students fighting removed. It was removed the next day, which was good. Three weeks later, another Brisbane school was on the 6oclock news with a because of a similar video :?
The other day I found another video, although much more milder, but still equally as annoying. And as of yet, I'm still waiting to see it disappear.![]()
Wikipedia has been just as annoying, although at least that's somewhat easier to clean up.
But like StewartKnight said, the old exclusion trick will probably work wonders.![]()
Depends what the video is, I think; if the content is illegal or grossly offensive, then YouTube cen be pretty sharp at taking them down, if it is something like covert filming in class or kids mucking around and making the school look bad, I don't think you've got much option but to appeal to or "encourage" the kid to remove it.
Not sure how threats of detentions/exclusions unless they remove the video would stand if challenged though.
