Last day in education!
Well it's my last day at work in the school today, I'm both sad (genuinely) and releaved. The only real reason I'm leaving is because of "single status" our pay review that I know is still happening in England, essentially I was screwed over by it and frankly was too insulted to appeal when I knew I could earn more by moving employer.
There's always ups and downs when working in schools but I have to admit it's been one of the best jobs I've had (and I've only had 3!).
I'll continue to post here of course, this site is invaluable, as are the people posting on it - seeing as most of you are slightly unhinged

Yeah been a lot of good will towards me leaving *in general* there's always a few who get a bit childish but most of the staff are genuinely happy. I'm moving to the NHS and taking a serious step up the IT career ladder - only applied for the job for interview experience and never in a million years expected to be offered it

Like you... I had a love hate relationship as a NM for 10 years. I loved the job but hated the bull$h1t and low pay.
Good luck.... and consider it a lucky escape from the madness we happen to call education! I did

Good luck in the new job ... and don't forget that there will always be a place for you here ... even if you do have to wear this lovely special jacket with long sleeves and shiny buckles.
