I installed a new sound system in the hall and added a couple of old Celestion Dittons that I had in my loft. Then I sat and watched and listened to the ugh Christmas play with the parents - just in case of technical difficulties. About 5:30, I thought I'd give the whole set up a thorough try out with some Black Sabbath and see how it went. Wow, but how was I to know there was a Governors' meeting going on down the corridor. Doh ! At least I wasn't playing air guitar.

Could have been worse. You could been listening to Cradle of Filth.![]()
Why were they having a meeting on the day of the play ? They were at the play and had some unfinished business from the previous meeting, so a convenient time for them, but next time check in with me !!. I just blagged my way through it - sound check rubbish. The lady who came to see what was going on was a bit like the old bag from Please Sir. Can't remember her name. Left the beer in the locker too.
I've had a similar scenario I played sepultura loud enough so i could hear it down the corridor while i was installing network cable for a new class room. No body told me the head likes to come in during school holidays![]()
We have a logitech 5.1 THX system in our library which is something like 160W (at least!) with a 12" sub and it's right next our office, during school hols it gets thoroughly tested :headbang: we have a had a few comments when the office staff pop in to do some work though!

We regularly 'test' out sound system with various music during the holidays.
Our setup consists of 8 speakers and 2 sub bins wired to 4 power amps, and it's very loud and extreemly clear. Makes a nice change to have some quality music through it insted of naff powerpoint presentations and badly copied CDs.
Mike.
Well at least they got some music in their exciting governors meeting, they should be thanking you.
Matt
