Shirt, tie, trousers and shoes. All very boring I suppose, but I get dust all over my trousers all the time (really annoying).

If there is a risk of you dropping it (eg being knocked by a student coming round the corner) then you not only have to protect yourself, but others (ie the student). Do you have steel toe capped shoes for them?
The solution is not to carry it but to use a trolley, so the H&S reason for having steel toe capped shoes doesn't really work. I'm not saying it is a bad thing, just that H&S there is no reason for it. I think this is the point that srochford is trying to put forward too.

In some cases this might not be practical, though. We have some second-floor classrooms, but no lifts whatsoever - no chance of getting a trolley up there! Plus if you're at one end of the site and need to move something back to your office, the trolley is kept at the other end (and even then might have been nabbed by someone else) - do you go around on a wild goose chase to procure a trolley, or just carry it? (Of course, if it's planned, you'd make sure to put your claim on the trolley well in advance).
